Thoughts?

The nightmare is real.

addicted to horror

the plot
Two children in two different families suffer the same recurring nightmare about a faceless man who is trying to kidnap them. The problem is that the nightmare soon begins to feel real.

the good
- intriguing premise
- a few frightening moments
- evocative set design and locations

the bad
- cheap and repetitive scares
- awful CGI and special effects
- a story that goes nowhere
- underwritten and directionless characters
- dull sequences with barely any plot progression
- weak climax and uninspired conclusion
- the fistfights

the ugly
- low violence and gore
- high scares and frightening scenes
- low nudity and sexual themes
- moderate profanity

things I learned from watching this movie *possible spoilers ahead*
- middle school teachers have no problem with their pupils making up creepy and disturbing stories
- nightmarish beings that materialise out of thin air seem to struggle when it comes to fistfights
- priests like to go on random exorcism errands
- construction workers have death wishes every once in a while
- genuine video footage doesn't prove anything
- the cure to panic attacks is revealing a twist in the story

summary
Intruders gets off to a fine start with a creepy introductory sequence and a premise that hints at great things to come, but the trip from there is nothing more than a downhill trajectory marked by missed opportunities and glaringly bad special effects. Following a story as dull and poorly written as every other throwaway exercise of the genre, Intruders gives rise to an intriguing concept, but due to its hopeless failure in execution it ultimately ends up being just as hollow as the villain character.
